Chelsea has released a statement advising fans to take ‘extreme caution’ following reports of stabbings involving travelling fans in Naples.
Liam Rosenior’s team is scheduled to face Napoli in their final Champions League match this evening. Two fans are currently receiving treatment in a hospital after social media reports indicated stabbings linked to Napoli ultras.
Chelsea confirmed that two supporters are hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.
In its statement, the club encouraged fans to be cautious ahead of the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday night.
“The club is aware of an incident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Naples,” Chelsea stated on their X account.
“Two fans are being treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The club advises all supporters to exercise extreme caution while in the city and to heed the advice given before this match.”
