Liam Rosenior has addressed concerns about Cole Palmer missing Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Pafos in the Champions League.
Palmer did not feature in the squad as Moises Caicedo scored late to secure Chelsea’s win at Stamford Bridge against the Cypriot team.
This season, Palmer has struggled with injuries affecting his toe and groin, leading to only 10 Premier League starts so far.
Rosenior explained that Palmer’s absence against Pafos was a precaution. He expressed optimism that the 23-year-old will be ready to play against Crystal Palace this weekend.
“It was precautionary,” said Rosenior.
“He felt something minor in the game against Brentford. It happened early on, and it’s commendable that he played through it. I don’t want to risk any players at this stage, especially someone of his quality.
“He has a good chance to participate and possibly start on Sunday, and we will keep preparing him for that.”
