Chema Andres Profile: Real Madrid’s Young Midfielder Officially Signed with VfB Stuttgart

VfB Stuttgart officially announced the signing of Chema Andres from Real Madrid on Sunday (July 27). The midfielder signed a long-term contract until June 30, 2030, and will wear the number 30 shirt at his new club.

This transfer marks a new step in Andres’ professional career, who previously competed in Spain.

Chema Andres, born in Valencia on April 25, 2005, started his footballing journey at local club Betera before joining Levante’s academy.

According to Transfermarkt, in 2018, he was recruited by Real Madrid’s academy, where he learned football at a youth level. In the 2024/2025 season, Andres made 35 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla in the third tier of Spanish La Liga, providing three assists. He also appeared in 13 UEFA Youth League matches, contributing one goal.

Andres was also part of Real Madrid’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Champions League, although he did not appear in any of the matches. At international level, he represented the Spanish national team at the U-18 and U-19 levels, making 14 appearances and scoring one goal.

At VfB Stuttgart, Chema Andres will fill the defensive midfield position. The club sees his playing profile as someone capable of setting the rhythm and providing stability in the midfield. VfB Stuttgart sports board member Fabian Wohlgemuth stated that Andres possesses experience at a high level and the potential to develop further in the Bundesliga.

“In Chema Andres, we have recruited a player who perfectly fits the profile we were looking for in the defensive midfield position. Chema has already performed at a high level, is well-educated in football and tactics, and as a young player, he still has great potential for development. We are delighted that Chema has chosen VfB and warmly welcome him to Stuttgart,” said Fabian, as quoted on the VfB Stuttgart website, Monday (28/7).
