Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Motsau “Banks” Setlhodi has shared his views on the recent drama in the Carling Knockout Cup Last 16.

Amakhosi goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari declined his coach’s request to be substituted before the penalty shootouts against Stellenbosch FC at the DHL Stadium.

“He [Ntwari] made the right choice [by refusing to be substituted],” Setlhodi told FARPost. “Why take him out? The score was 0-0, and he didn’t make any mistakes; he maintained a clean sheet.

“If I’m taken out as a goalkeeper, what does that say about my skills? It’s undermining him. He was justified in refusing. I would have done the same,” the Chiefs legend added.

Next, the Glamour Boys will face AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, 18 October.
