Federico Chiesa declined Italy call-up. Gattuso explains the situation
Preparation is key.
Italy’s head coach Gennaro Gattuso has provided an update on Federico Chiesa’s situation.
Details: As Italy gears up for upcoming matches, Gattuso, 47, mentioned that he frequently communicates with the 27-year-old winger from Liverpool:
“The matter with Chiesa is straightforward. I engage with my players regularly, and I want to emphasize that.
He does not feel at 100% right now and aims to get back to full fitness, which is the reality,” Gattuso said.
So far this season, Chiesa has played in 6 matches for Liverpool and scored 2 goals.
Italy’s next game is on October 11 against Estonia, followed by a home match with Israel on October 14.
Note: Gattuso was involved in a heated exchange with players from the Israel national team.
