Chile will welcome back Bruno Barticciotto for their final South American World Cup qualifier. As reported by La Tercera, the Santos Laguna forward missed the 3-0 loss to Brazil due to a muscle injury but has now recovered and rejoined the team ahead of Tuesday’s match against Uruguay in Santiago.

Head coach Nicolás Córdova had intended to start Barticciotto against Brazil, but medical staff decided to rest him. This choice seems justified, as the 23-year-old striker is available again after a strong performance in Liga MX this year: 15 matches, 8 goals, and 1 assist in just over 1,000 minutes.

Chile has faced several absences this qualifying window, including Darío Osorio and defender Benjamín Kuscevic, who remains uncertain and may be released from the roster. Barticciotto’s return is a welcome boost as La Roja aims to end the campaign on a positive note.

The match against Uruguay, led by Marcelo Bielsa, is set for Tuesday, September 9, at 8:30 p.m. local time. For Chile, this game is about more than just points; it’s also a chance to lay the groundwork for the next qualifying cycle after a tough run.
