According to Claro Sports, Chivas will be without Alan Mozo for the rest of the Apertura 2025 due to a meniscus injury that needs surgery. This comes just before their match against América in the Clásico Nacional this Saturday at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes.

Mozo injured his knee during a friendly game against León in Chicago. He had started the match but was substituted in the 72nd minute because of knee pain. Medical tests in Guadalajara later confirmed the injury, and surgery with Dr. Rafael Ortega is required.

The former Pumas player was a key part of Gabriel Milito’s strategy and was ready to help Chivas compete for the title this season. His absence will affect the team for the rest of the regular phase, with his return depending on recovery and the team’s playoff progress.

For Milito, this is a major setback. Mozo provided dependable support on the right side, and now Chivas must adjust their defense for the upcoming rivalry match, facing added uncertainty without one of their key players.
