Colombia has produced many notable football players over the years.

Icons like Carlos Valderrama, Faustino Asprilla, and Rene Higuita made their mark in the 1990s.

In recent years, players such as James Rodriguez and David Ospina have also gained recognition in the English Premier League.

Manchester United fans will remember Radamel Falcao’s high-profile move to the club.

Sadly for Falcao, injuries affected his performance at Old Trafford, making his time there less impressive.

Until now, he has been the only Colombian to wear Manchester United’s red shirt.

This is set to change soon.

Manchester United has signed a promising player from Colombia, planning to add him to the team.

Cristian Orozco has officially signed with Manchester United and will join the club in 2026.

Orozco is currently the captain of the Colombia under-17 team and led them in both the U17 South American Championship and the U17 World Cup.

The midfielder recently visited Manchester to finalize the deal and talked to ESPN Deportes about his future at the club – including when he will officially start.

“I think the contract is for five years,” Orozco stated.

“I have to wait until I turn 18, which is in July, to be able to travel.”

This indicates that Cristian Orozco will join Manchester United on a five-year contract in July 2026.

ESPN Deportes reports that he attended the 1-1 draw against West Ham United and has already trained with the youth team in Manchester.

Orozco also shared how Manchester United showed interest in him.

“It was during the South American [Championship],” he explained.

“My representative told me during the semifinals that Manchester was watching me, liked what they saw, and that I would receive an offer when I got back to Medellin.”

“Thank God it all worked out, and now I need to focus on Fortaleza for the remaining half-year.”

In summary, we now know more about Cristian Orozco.

He will continue with his current team, Fortaleza, for the rest of the season, aiming to gain first-team experience in Colombia before heading to the UK.
