Conference League Qualifying: Besiktas and Anderlecht secure wins

Beşiktaş and Anderlecht secured wins in the first leg of the third round of the 2025/26 Conference League Qualifiers on Friday morning (IST).

According to UEFA, Turkish club Beşiktaş secured a 4-1 victory over League of Ireland side St Patrick’s Athletic at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin.

Beşiktaş’s victory was thanks to goals from João Mário and a hat-trick from Tammy Abraham, while St Patrick’s Athletic reduced the deficit through Simon Power.

Statistically, Besiktas dominated the match by controlling 67 percent of ball possession and releasing a total of 16 shots, eight of which were on target for St Patrick’s Athletic.

Meanwhile, Belgian representatives Anderlecht secured a 3-0 victory over Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, Brussels.

Anderlecht managed to win this match against Sheriff Tiraspol thanks to goals scored by Nilson Angulo, Kasper Dolberg and Yari Verschaeren.

Anderlecht had the upper hand over Sheriff in this match, having 53 percent possession and 12 shots, six of which were on target.

The second leg of the third round of the Conference League Qualification will then start on Wednesday (13/8) evening IST until Friday (14/8) early morning IST
