Napoli had a disappointing match yesterday.
The head coach took the blame for the poor performance.
Details: After suffering a heavy 6-2 loss to PSV from the Netherlands in the third round of the Champions League, Napoli manager Antonio Conte discussed his team’s failure:
“I’m disappointed. These situations don’t happen without reason. We need to ensure this loss prompts us to change our approach. Last year, we won the league, which was remarkable. Many players exceeded expectations. Now, we’re in European competition with several new individuals—perhaps too many. I’ve mentioned that this season will be challenging. We need to work hard and prepare for tough times ahead,” Conte stated.
Currently, Napoli is 22nd in the Champions League group standings, with only 3 points from 3 matches.
Napoli also matched a dismal record with another Italian club: Roma, who also gave up 6 goals in a Champions League game back in 2015 against Barcelona.
