Cristiano Ronaldo’s first words after rejoining Al Nassr for European preseason tour

Al Nassr are set to begin a series of preseason friendlies in Europe, and Cristiano Ronaldo has officially rejoined the team.

After agreeing to a contract extension with Al Nassr through the end of the 2026–27 season, Cristiano Ronaldo took part in his first training session on Friday ahead of the club’s European preseason tour.

CR7 had been granted special permission by new head coach Jorge Jesus to miss the early stages of preseason. He linked up with his teammates this week in Austria, just days before their opening friendly matches of the summer.

Now back in full training with Al Nassr, Ronaldo shared an upbeat message on his official Instagram and X accounts. “It starts now. Eyes on the future. We are all in!” wrote the Portuguese forward, alongside a series of images showing him and teammates going through physical drills.

Within just a few hours, the post racked up more than 2 million likes on Instagram and over 200,000 on X. Thousands of fans took the opportunity to wish him luck as he enters his fourth season in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo’s Al Nassr preseason schedule

During their time in Europe, Al Nassr will play several friendlies that will help head coach Jorge Jesus begin shaping his squad while players continue working toward peak physical and competitive form. Their first test will come this Saturday against TSV St. Johann, a club that plays in Austria’s third division.

Starting next Wednesday, the challenges will become more serious for the Saudi side. That day, they’ll face Toulouse from France, followed by matches against Sheffield United (August 2) and Almeria (August 10). Al Nassr’s first official game of the season is scheduled for August 19, when they face Al Ittihad in the semifinals of the Saudi Super Cup.

A strong rival ahead for Cristiano Ronaldo?

While Al Nassr continue their European tour, other Saudi Pro League clubs are also preparing to make a splash this season. According to Sports Illustrated, Al Hilal are one of the teams interested in signing Alexander Isak, one of the Premier League’s breakout stars.

Isak has been outstanding in recent seasons with Newcastle, scoring 62 goals in 109 matches between 2022 and 2025. However, his time with the club may be coming to an end, and several teams are rumored to be in pursuit. Alongside Al Hilal, reports suggest Liverpool are also monitoring his situation.
