Details: Well-known journalist James Williams reports that Crystal Palace’s head coach, Oliver Glasner, was the key reason why Marc Guehi’s transfer to Liverpool fell through.
According to sources, Glasner contacted the club’s management last minute, stating that if Guehi left, not only would they face defensive problems, but he would also resign as the manager.
After a short discussion, the club decided to halt the transfer, which was close to completion.
Earlier reports had suggested that Guehi was about to join Liverpool for £35 million on a five-year contract.
