Crystal Palace will face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, aiming to keep their strong year-end performance at Selhurst Park.
Recently, Oliver Glasner’s team displayed great determination, especially during their draw against Arsenal in the cup. Now, the manager needs to turn that effort into three points in the Premier League. The Eagles are currently 8th in the table, so a win could bring them closer to European spots as they head into 2026.
In recent years, this matchup has mostly favored the home team. Last season, Palace secured two wins over Spurs. They also have Jean-Philippe Mateta, one of the league’s top strikers, at home. Glasner hopes that playing at their familiar ground will help them break their four-match winless streak across all competitions.
Oliver Glasner is dealing with several injuries and player absences ahead of the match. Chris Richards is working to recover from a foot injury with stitches that he suffered against Arsenal. Eddie Nketiah is also uncertain after getting hurt in the same match. Additionally, key players like Daniel Muñoz, Daichi Kamada, and Cheick Doucouré are absent, and Ismaïla Sarr is away for AFCON duty.
Despite these challenges, Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to play, managing a knee issue while still being the top scorer for Palace this season. Midfielder Adam Wharton could make history; if he starts, he will break the record for the most Premier League starts by a player aged 21 or younger. Young players Justin Devenny and summer signing Jaydee Canvot are also in the lineup considerations as Glasner adjusts his squad.
Crystal Palace predicted XI: Henderson; Canvot, Lacroix, Guéhi; Clyne, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Pino, Devenny; Mateta
The Premier League match is set for Sunday, 28 December 2025, with kick-off at 16:30 GMT.
Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the match live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, starting at 16:00 GMT.
