Liam Delap praised Liam Rosenior as an excellent coach after reuniting with him at Chelsea.
Rosenior has taken on the role of Chelsea head coach with a long-term contract, replacing Enzo Maresca. The 41-year-old earned respect for his work at Strasbourg and began his Chelsea tenure with a 5-1 victory against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup last weekend.
Delap is familiar with Rosenior, having played under him during a loan spell at Hull City in the 2023-24 season, where he scored eight goals in 32 matches.
Delap expressed his happiness about reconnecting with Rosenior.
“He’s an incredible coach and a great person,” Delap noted.
“I spent a year with him, and I believe his ideas and approach to football will really benefit us, especially for me and the younger players he helped at Hull. We all progressed well under him.”
“I appreciate his management style. He’s genuinely nice but can be very straightforward. As a coach, that honesty is valuable. He will explain why you aren’t playing and what you need to improve,” he added.
“Building trust with him and his staff is essential. His honesty makes a difference.”
“I faced challenges transitioning from academy football to the first team, but Liam was one of the coaches who guided me through that change. I’m grateful for his support, and I hope to continue developing now that we are both at Chelsea.”
