France’s national team head coach Didier Deschamps has addressed concerns raised by Paris Saint-Germain regarding Ousmane Dembélé’s injury during the qualifying match against Ukraine. Deschamps expressed regret over the situation but firmly dismissed the accusations against him.
“He played because he was feeling good. I would never have risked his health otherwise. Medically, there were no issues, and the decision was mine. I trust our doctors and coaches completely,” Deschamps told Tuttomercato.
The coach highlighted that the national team’s medical staff thoroughly examined the player’s condition. He noted that Dembélé suffered a thigh injury, but it was not related to any earlier issues, and no concerning symptoms were observed before the match.
