This Saturday morning in Paris, Didier Deschamps attended the general assembly of the French Football Federation and discussed his future. As he will step down after the next World Cup, the coach of the French national team expressed no concerns about what lies ahead. Responding to Gerald Baticle, he emphasized that he has no political ambitions in French football.

“Personally, I am not someone who feels nostalgic. I always feel young, at least in my mind. I know this is my last general assembly. I have no presidential ambitions; that is not part of my future plans. In my approach, what matters is today and tomorrow,” he stated. “All these years, I have always believed that the French team comes first. I have never considered myself the most important person. I have always seen myself as serving the Federation to ensure that the French team is well represented, both in France and around the world. I will not change my way of working.”
