Diogo Dalot is an important player for Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.
Since joining from AC Milan in 2021, Dalot has played 191 matches for the club, scoring nine goals.
Before entering the first team, he was part of Manchester United’s academy, playing for the Under-23s in 2018 and 2019.
Under Amorim, there is increased competition for players to perform well and achieve success.
Dalot needs to maintain high performances and contribute valuable skills on the field.
One key strength is his leadership, which was evident during the recent match against Aston Villa, where he captained the team in the second half after Bruno Fernandes was injured.
After the game, Dalot shared his thoughts on this leadership role.
In an interview on the Manchester United website, he said: “Yeah, it’s obviously a very proud moment.
“I remember my first day here, and I never expected to wear the armband for this club.
“My goal was to build my career here and become an important player for the team.
“Experiencing every stage of a football player’s journey at this club makes it even more special.
“But I know we have many talented players who can uphold the club’s standards, and I’m glad to be part of that.”
Next, all eyes will be on Amorim to see if Dalot will be named captain for the upcoming match against Newcastle United.
