This Thursday, Didier Deschamps announced his squad of 24 players for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, shifting the focus to the next generation of French talent. The France U21 team, led by Gérald Baticle, will also gather for important matches this November. They are set to play against Switzerland on November 14 and host the Faroe Islands at home on November 17, both crucial for qualifying for the U21 Euro 2027.
For these matches, Baticle has made several notable adjustments to his squad. Warren Zaïre-Emery, who captained the previous gathering, will join the senior team under Deschamps. In defense, Nathan Zézé, currently with Neom in Saudi Arabia, returns, while Thérence Koudou has not been called up. The midfield remains largely unchanged but will miss their key player from Paris. Up front, Éli Junior Kroupi, in great form with Bournemouth, and Bahoya retain their positions. Saïmon Bouabré also makes a return, along with Nantes’ Herba Guirassy, who faced injury issues in September. Senny Mayulu, absent due to injury in the last gathering, is back in the squad. However, Edjouma was not selected this time. The attacking force includes London-based talents Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, ready to provide their offensive flair.
