The match at Villa Park was heavily policed due to the presence of around 1,200 visiting fans. What started as a celebration soon escalated into chaos with flying cups, a torn-up seat, partial pitch invasion, and police intervention. Despite this disruption, Malen kept his composure and scored a brace, temporarily putting Villa ahead 2-0, as reported by Daily Mail.
Gerardo Seoane, head coach of Young Boys, apologized for the behavior of his supporters, noting that some may have viewed Malen’s celebration as a provocation. Police and security personnel had to step in to restore order and remove troublemakers, resulting in a brief stoppage of play. Despite the incidents, Aston Villa maintained their lead, showcasing solid performances from Malen, Morgan Rogers, and Jadon Sancho, further strengthening their position in the Europa League standings.
