Douglas Costa, a former midfielder for the Brazil national team, has been issued a one-month arrest warrant.
Details: Globo Esporte reports that the arrest is due to a large amount of unpaid child support, totaling nearly $93,000. The warrant is valid for two years, allowing authorities to detain him at any time.
This is not the first time Costa has faced such an issue. In 2023, he was also threatened with arrest for similar reasons while playing for LA Galaxy in the United States. The situation became complicated after he left Sydney FC in Australia, where his contract was mutually terminated.
Costa was given two months to clear his debts, but he mentioned that the process could take longer. The court is currently reviewing the case privately, and a final verdict may be reached soon.
Reminder: Kiki Musampa, a former Manchester City player, has been arrested for fraud.
