East Bengal has secured a place in the AIFF Super Cup final after defeating Punjab FC 3-1 in a semi-final match at the PJN Stadium in Goa. The team delivered a strong and efficient performance in the game held on December 4, 2025.
East Bengal took an early lead when Mohammed Bashim Rashid scored in the 12th minute. Punjab FC later equalized with a penalty kick successfully converted by Daniel Ramons. However, just before halftime, Kevin Sibille headed the ball into the net to give East Bengal the lead again. The victory was confirmed in the 71st minute when team captain Saul Crespo scored the third goal.
Punjab FC initially put pressure on East Bengal, but their defensive errors were capitalized on by the winning side. Two of East Bengal’s key goals originated from corner kicks. While Punjab attempted a comeback in the second half, East Bengal maintained a disciplined defense to secure their win. This is the team’s second final of the season under coach Oscar Bruzon and their third time reaching the AIFF Super Cup final.
