East Bengal Tops Calcutta Football League After Victory Over George Telegraph

East Bengal secured the top position in Group A of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025-26 season by defeating George Telegraph SC 4-0 on Tuesday at the Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Stadium in Barrackpore.

PV Vishnu scored twice, while Sayan Banerjee and Manotos Maji each added a goal for the Red and Gold Brigade, with all the goals coming in the second half.

This victory brought East Bengal’s total to 20 points after 10 matches, consisting of six wins, two draws, and two losses.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal’s rival, is currently in sixth place with 14 points, having played one match fewer.

The top three teams from each group will move on to the Super Six stage of the tournament.
