Newcastle’s head coach Eddie Howe has discussed the shift in his relationship with Alexander Isak after the striker expressed a wish to leave the club. Howe noted that their dynamic changed significantly following this event, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Howe mentioned that before this incident, he and Isak enjoyed a strong working relationship. He emphasized that Isak had grown as a player with the team, contributing to Newcastle’s success.
“Once he went on strike, our relationship changed. I think that was a turning point for us. Communication became challenging after that. I won’t go into more detail on that. I would say Alex was a key part of our success and enjoyed his time here, so that wasn’t the problem. The issue for him came up once the other club showed interest, which shifted his mindset,” Howe explained.
