Rob Edwards thinks his Wolves team is progressing after a goalless draw with Newcastle.
Wolves have gone four games unbeaten in the Premier League after this match at Molineux.
Although they had less possession, Wolves limited Newcastle’s chances with a strong defensive effort.
Newcastle’s first shot on target came in the 85th minute as they struggled to break through.
In an interview with BBC Match of the Day, Edwards commended his team’s determination but acknowledged there’s still much to improve. Wolves sit at the bottom of the Premier League, 14 points from safety.
“It was a solid performance, and we showed a lot of commitment. Newcastle is a strong team, but we controlled the game well defensively. When we attacked, we looked threatening on the counter,” he said.
“People may think our success happened overnight, but we’ve been performing well even before this. They have talented players, but things went as we anticipated. I’m happy with the clean sheet; we didn’t give away much.”
“We know we’re not there yet and there’s still plenty to do. The players are motivated, and the crowd supported us throughout the match. We are making positive strides.”
