Egypt’s Squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations: Key Players and Expectations

Egypt may not enter the Africa Cup of Nations as favorites, but they should not be underestimated. The most successful team in the tournament’s history, with seven titles, will face South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Angola in the group stage. Coach Hossam Hassan has released a list of 28 players for the competition.

Among the selected players is Mohamed Salah, who at 33 will be competing in his fifth Cup of Nations. Despite reaching the finals in 2017 and 2022, he has yet to claim the continental title. He will be joined by other key players like Omar Marmoush (Manchester City), Mostafa Mohamed (FC Nantes), Mahmoud Trezeguet (Al Ahly), and Ahmed Sayed Zizo (Al Ahly).
