In the Matchday 30 La Liga game between Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, a significant refereeing incident occurred at the start of the second half.

Just 35 seconds after the half began, defender Gerard Martin received a direct red card for a harsh tackle, igniting reactions from players and fans alike.

The referee then reviewed the incident using the VAR. After careful consideration, the red card was overturned. Officials determined that Martin had played the ball first and, due to his momentum, ended up colliding with the opponent’s leg, which was crucial in changing the original decision.
