Everton are exploring various transfer options this January.

David Moyes has indicated the need to strengthen three main areas of the squad, and the Toffees are already pursuing potential targets.

One recent link is Mateus Mane from Wolves, who could be a suitable addition to the team’s attacking line.

The search for a full-back is also underway, with Ben White’s name appearing in connection with Everton.

Additionally, the club is looking at a centre-back, with one target compared to Yerry Mina due to his style and on-field presence.

Everton’s Tiago Gabriel move highlights similarities to Yerry Mina

Everton seems to be focusing on securing a central defender this transfer window, with several players already linked to the club.

Reports suggest that Moyes is interested in Nobel Mendy, a left-footed defender from Rayo Vallecano who is currently on loan from Real Betis.

Furthermore, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, the club has also made inquiries about Tiago Gabriel from Lecce, who shares similarities with former player Yerry Mina.

Gabriel stands out for his physicality. At 6ft 4in, he excels in aerial duels, ranking in the top three percent across Europe for aerial challenges won per 90 minutes, and is among the top four percent for non-penalty goals scored per game.

Tiago Gabriel’s name has come up in connection with Barcelona

If Everton aims to sign Gabriel this winter, they have a challenging task ahead.

The 2004-born defender is being linked with Barcelona, and Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested.

In the UK, both West Ham and Brentford are said to be monitoring the Portuguese under-21 international.

This indicates that Everton may need to offer him regular playing time to attract his interest, or he could choose to explore other options.

Moyes has not given much playing time to younger players this season. Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou have largely remained on the bench, which could present a challenge in negotiations with Gabriel.
