Seamus Coleman has been out since November, when he injured himself just 10 minutes into a match against Manchester United.
The 37-year-old has been recovering from a hamstring injury, which proved to be more serious than everyone anticipated. Now, after almost two months, he is getting closer to returning.
The club shared an update on their X account, featuring Coleman advancing in his recovery at Finch Farm.
A video showed Coleman performing well in training, with a note that he will be back with David Moyes’ squad “soon.”
How Seamus Coleman’s return might affect Everton’s January transfer plans
Moyes is now reportedly focused on finding a right-back instead of a striker, which was unexpected for supporters.
The need for a forward was clear before the transfer window opened, but it seems Moyes might be losing confidence in Jake O’Brien.
This situation could change now that Coleman is nearing a return. He had been performing well and appeared dependable before his injury.
Everton may now consider shifting their focus back to recruiting a forward. They could wait until summer to fill the right-back position once Coleman’s contract expires.
