Billy Vigar, a former player from the Arsenal academy, suffered a severe brain injury during the Isthmian Premier League match between Chichester City and Wingate & Finchley.
Details: The club reported that he was taken to the hospital and is now in intensive care, currently in an induced coma.
“Billy has suffered a serious head injury and is receiving the best possible treatment. It is too early to make any predictions, but recovery will be a long process,” Chichester City stated.

Reports indicate the injury happened within the first 15 minutes of the match due to a collision with a hard surface near the touchline, not an opponent. Paramedics provided immediate assistance before he was airlifted to a London hospital. The match was stopped immediately.
Vigar started his career at Arsenal’s academy at 14, later playing for the Gunners’ U21 team and on loan at Derby County and Eastbourne. He left the club in 2024 after not securing a first-team spot.
