Former Fenerbahce player Sinan Engin has accused Jose Mourinho of betraying the Turkish club and is urging UEFA and FIFA to investigate.
Details: Engin claims that the Portuguese manager met with Benfica’s lawyers during Fenerbahce’s trip to Lisbon for a Champions League match at the end of August. He suggests that Mourinho aimed for his own dismissal and may have affected the squad selection to weaken Fenerbahce in this important match.
Following Benfica’s 1-0 win, which secured their place in the Champions League group stage, Mourinho was dismissed.
Mourinho, for his part, says that discussions with Benfica management only started after the match against the Azerbaijani team. He denies any intention to harm Fenerbahce.
Reminder: Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Karim Benzema.
