Morgan Schneiderlin expresses pride after Strasbourg return
Morgan Schneiderlin is starting a new chapter in his career by returning to RC Strasbourg, the club where he first developed as a player.
In a statement on the club’s website, Schneiderlin said, “Returning to Racing brings me great joy and pride. This club trained me and is very important to me.”
He added, “I want to support the players, help them grow, and keep a strong bond with Racing.”
For Schneiderlin, this role represents a full-circle moment, returning to the place where his professional journey began.
His remarks highlight the trend of former players taking on mentorship roles in European clubs.
Strasbourg’s decision to bring Schneiderlin back aligns with their focus on experience-driven guidance as they work on building stability under a broader ownership structure that includes Chelsea.
From Premier League stage to new beginnings
Schneiderlin had a significant career lasting nearly two decades. He started at Strasbourg’s academy before moving to Southampton in 2008, where he became a key midfielder in the Premier League.
His success at Southampton led to a transfer to Manchester United in 2015, playing under Louis van Gaal.
Afterward, he joined Everton and later played for Nice in France and Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia.
Known for his composure and tactical understanding, he now shifts to nurturing the next generation of talent at Strasbourg.
With the club strengthening its structure under multi-club ownership, Schneiderlin offers a blend of local familiarity and international experience.
