Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for not paying child support. A court in Porto Alegre issued the arrest warrant for the ex-footballer.
Details: The sentence will be served in a closed prison facility. If there is no space available, he may go to a semi-open prison. He will be released automatically after serving the 30 days. The arrest warrant is valid for two years but can be paused if the entire debt is paid.
As of July 2025, the former player’s debt stands at 1,030,214 Brazilian reals (around 165,000 euros).
Reminder: During his career, Anderson played for Grêmio, Porto, Manchester United, Fiorentina, Internacional, Coritiba, and Turkish team Adana Demirspor.
