Robin Risser has returned to Lens after sustaining a head injury during the Under-21 match against Switzerland on Friday evening. He was injured in the early minutes following a heavy collision with Swiss forward Noah Streit. Although the young goalkeeper initially wanted to continue playing, he was substituted out of caution due to concerns about a potential concussion. Medical staff quickly replaced him with Ewen Jaouen.
Now under the care of RC Lens’s medical team, Risser underwent initial examinations that have come back reassuring, according to L’Équipe. No signs of concussion were detected, which is why no specific protocol was activated. Having performed well since the start of the season, the 20-year-old goalkeeper may be available for the match against Strasbourg at Bollaert-Delelis next weekend, a special opponent as it is his former club.
