Real Madrid is in a tough battle for the La Liga title, currently trailing Barcelona again amidst some internal issues.
While the team has strong attacking players and improved their defense last summer with the additions of Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras, the midfield is struggling without Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Additionally, there are several strong personalities on the team, and Xabi Alonso is facing challenges managing them.
Real Madrid is exploring ways to strengthen the team further, and one of those solutions is a confirmed signing for the summer 2026 transfer window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has reached an agreement with Nico Paz, an academy product who is currently excelling at Como in Serie A and is considered one of the best players in the Italian league right now.
Real Madrid has a buy-back clause for the rising star, and although they have Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono as promising No. 10 options (with Xabi favoring Jude Bellingham more as an 8), it seems Paz will join for the 2026/27 season to enhance Madrid’s midfield.
