Barcelona is looking for an additional center back as some of their current players are unreliable or frequently injured. They need more depth in this important position, and the club is aiming for high-profile targets.

The top choice for central defense is Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan. The left-footed defender has played in two Champions League Finals and is key to one of the top defenses in Europe.

However, signing Bastoni may be challenging. While Barcelona might have a better chance than other clubs due to their reputation, he could remain with Inter for the long term.

As a result, Barcelona is considering other options, and they are reportedly interested in Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth. This defender has emerged as a standout performer in European football this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus is also eyeing Senesi, needing a strong center back for their lineup. Barcelona could secure Senesi for a low fee, as his contract is set to expire.

This means Barcelona could either sign him for free this winter with a deal for next summer or pay a couple of million euros to ensure they get him before Juventus.

At 28 years old, Senesi is in his prime as a center back. Although not widely known before this season, he has performed exceptionally well for Bournemouth, becoming one of the most active center backs in Europe.

While this could just be a good stretch for Senesi, his production and leadership make him a reasonable alternative for Barcelona, even if he doesn’t match the top-tier quality they usually seek.
