Denies many of the coach’s claims.

After the Champions League match against Liverpool, Atlético head coach Diego Simeone had a confrontation with fans, claiming it was due to racist abuse. One of the fans involved decided to share his side of the story.

Details: This fan, identified as Jonathan Poulter, has been banned from stadiums for three years for insulting a disabled supporter during Steven Gerrard’s farewell match in 2015, according to the Mirror.

Poulter denies making any racist remarks or referring to the Falklands War, which is a sensitive issue for many Argentinians. He claims the incident involved only a middle finger gesture directed at Simeone and the phrase “go to hell.”

Quote: “It’s time to explain what happened last night with Simeone. I think his response was cowardly. None of that nonsense happened, neither from me nor anyone else. When he was asked, he said nothing and just walked away, leaving it to speculation. I never said anything like that. I only made a gesture and yelled ‘go to hell,'” Poulter said in a video on his X account.
