FIFA recently announced that over 4.5 million fans from 216 countries have registered for the 2026 World Cup ticket lottery, just ten days after the first application window opened. The organization shared details about the ticket sales process moving forward.

Lottery winners will receive emails starting Monday, Sept. 29, informing them when they can purchase tickets. The first presale window is set to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

Additional ticket phases will kick off in October, with the next lottery registration opening on Oct. 27. FIFA also emphasized that winning the lottery does not ensure a ticket, as some matches may sell out before fans complete their purchases. A resale platform is expected to launch on Oct. 2.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino remarked, “These figures are not only exceptional, but also a powerful statement. The whole world wants to be part of the FIFA World Cup 26 — the biggest, most inclusive, and most exciting event ever.”

He further added, “From Canada, Mexico, and the United States to countries across every continent, this shows that the passion for soccer truly unites us. In 2026, with 48 teams competing across 16 incredible host cities, the world will come together in North America like never before.

What are the ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup?

During the initial presale, tickets for all 104 group-stage matches will be available, even before the official draw on Dec. 5. Fans can also buy packages for every game within a specific group, with prices starting at $60.

Overall, ticket prices will range from $60 for the least expensive group-stage seats to $6,730 for premium final seats. FIFA noted that prices may change based on demand during the sales process.
