The 2026 World Cup is coming soon and will be the first to be held in three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Recently, FIFA shared details on how tickets can be purchased for this major event.

Ticket prices will start at $60 for the cheapest group-stage seats, with the most expensive final seats priced at $6,730. Prices may change depending on demand.

The initial tickets will not be available to the public. A Presale Draw for Visa cardholders will take place from 11 a.m. ET on September 10 to 11 a.m. ET on September 19. Those chosen in the draw can buy tickets starting October 1, with a limit of four tickets per person per match and a total maximum of 40 tickets for the tournament.

The second ticket sales phase is likely to occur from October 27 to October 31, with purchase options available from mid-November to early December. Like the first phase, it will require an application followed by a random selection.

The final phase will start soon after the World Cup draw on December 5. In this phase, fans can request tickets for specific matches after most group-stage matchups are released. Any remaining tickets as the tournament nears will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Official resale platform and advice

FIFA confirmed the creation of an official ticket resale platform. This is aimed at preventing problems with invalid or unauthorized resales and will be accessible to fans following local and federal regulations.

Heimo Schirgi, the World Cup’s Chief Operating Officer, advised fans to “Get your tickets early,” especially if they know their plans in the host cities. “So that’s the message: Get your tickets early, because anything could happen.”
