Abdoulaye Saydou’s appointment to FIFA’s Development Committee is positive news for the former second vice-president of the Senegalese Football Federation.
He has officially taken on this role in a committee led by Egyptian Hany Abo Rida, with Nualphan Lamsam from Thailand as vice-chair. This committee is tasked with overseeing and assessing programs aimed at promoting and advancing football development in national federations worldwide.
The committee consists of 19 members from various continents, featuring notable figures. Following his tenure as president of the Amateur Football League and the Kaffrine Regional League, Saydou also served as the Minister of Urban Planning, Housing, and Public Hygiene under Macky Sall’s administration and has been the mayor of Kaffrine since 2022.
