Thomas Frank has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be out for three months due to a quad injury he sustained in the recent match against Tottenham.
Kudus left the field limping during the 1-1 draw in North London, and tests have revealed the seriousness of the injury.
Frank stated that the Ghana international is not expected to return until April, which leaves Spurs with fewer options in attack. They had recently sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace, further limiting their choices.
“Mohammed Kudus has a significant tendon injury in his quad. We anticipate he’ll be back after the March international break,” Frank said in his pre-match press briefing.
He also provided an update on Dejan Kulusevski, who has yet to play this season. Frank described Kulusevski’s injury as ‘complicated’.
“The latest on Dejan Kulusevski is that it’s a complicated injury. If anyone can speed up recovery, it’s him, given his top professionalism and mentality. The key now is to alleviate the pain in his knee.
“He received an injection for that 10 days ago. We should have a clearer picture in 3-4 weeks to see if it has improved. If it has, he may soon return to training, and then we can evaluate his condition.”
On a positive note before the FA Cup third-round tie this week, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie have both returned to training.
“Both have trained and are making progress. Destiny is a bit closer since he has only been out for around five weeks, compared to Dom, who has been sidelined longer. Both are doing well and improving.”
