Frank Onyeka scored his first goal of the season, helping Coventry City achieve a thrilling 3–2 win over Derby County at the CBS Arena.
The midfielder gave Coventry an early lead, netting in the 12th minute with a calm shot from inside the box. Derby equalized before halftime when Ben Brereton Díaz scored in the 38th minute, making it 1–1 at the break.
In the second half, Coventry regained the lead with Jack Rudoni’s goal in the 68th minute. Derby responded again, as Brereton Díaz converted a penalty in the 77th minute to level the match once more.
Refusing to settle for a draw, Rudoni scored again just three minutes later, securing the win for Coventry in a closely fought match.
This victory boosts Coventry City’s promotion hopes, putting them 11 points ahead of Millwall with six games left. They are on track to win the EFL Championship and move up to the Premier League.
