Thomas Frank expressed pride in his Spurs players despite their defeat to Man Utd on Saturday, where they played with ten men for much of the match.

Tottenham’s captain Cristian Romero received a red card in the 29th minute for a challenge on Casemiro, which was his second red of the season and will result in a four-match suspension.

Bryan Mbeumo scored first for Man Utd before Bruno Fernandes added a second in the second half, leading to their fourth consecutive Premier League win.

“After the red card, I felt proud of the players for their resilience and efforts to stay competitive. We made some offensive changes but then conceded again.

“For the last 60 or 70 minutes, we played with ten men. They gave their all, and I’m proud of the fans who were supportive throughout.”

Regarding Romero’s red card, Frank stated: “Cristian did not intend to challenge in that way. He went for the ball, but the rules led to a red card. He apologized to his teammates afterward.

“We need to accept it and move on. We’ve been focusing on resilience. Although we didn’t get a result today, the players’ performance was impressive. Our attention is now on Newcastle for the match on Tuesday night.”
