Footem.in – Dani Ceballos‘ future has taken another turn as Real Betis firmly denied reports about making an offer to Real Madrid for the midfielder, despite earlier claims that he was close to joining Marseille.
Transfer to Marseille Falls Through
Reports indicated that Ceballos was on the verge of a loan to Marseille for the remainder of the season with a mandatory purchase clause.
However, the transfer collapsed as the 29-year-old Real Madrid player halted negotiations at the last moment.
Ceballos reportedly prefers a move to his childhood club, Real Betis, which is said to have renewed interest in him.
Real Betis Focuses on Other Targets
Despite the swirling rumors, Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Betis confirmed there have been no offers made to Real Madrid regarding Ceballos.
The Andalusian club is currently focused on negotiating with Manchester United for the potential transfer of Brazilian winger, Antony. However, those talks have also encountered difficulties.
Ceballos Faces Uncertain Future at Madrid
Marseille’s decision to withdraw from talks has left Ceballos in a precarious position.
If Betis does not take concrete steps or if their offer does not satisfy Real Madrid, Ceballos may be forced to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.
His standing in Madrid is not strong as he is not seen as a key player in Xabi Alonso’s plans.
This was evident when Ceballos remained on the bench for the first two La Liga matches of the season and received limited playing time in the FIFA Club World Cup.
If he stays without a regular role, his chances of making the Spanish squad for World Cup 2026 will diminish significantly.
With less than a week remaining before the transfer window closes, Ceballos’s fate remains uncertain.
