In Aguascalientes, reports indicate that Fernando Gago had a challenging night in Liga MX as Necaxa lost 3-0 to Tijuana’s Xolos. The Argentine coach faced backlash from fans as he left the stadium, with some even throwing a bottle. This reflects the growing frustration over the team’s struggles. Necaxa has only one win in its last seven games and has gone almost 300 minutes without scoring, placing them 15th in the league.

In his post-match press conference, Gago took full responsibility for the defeat. “I am the one to blame,” he said after a third consecutive loss. Questions are being raised about his tactics, as critics highlight the team’s challenges in adapting to his style and generating offensive plays. Against Xolos, Necaxa’s situation worsened with early red cards: Ricardo Monreal was sent off in the 16th minute, followed by Díber Cambindo shortly after halftime.

The former Boca Juniors and Racing coach noted that his players have lost confidence and emphasized the need to rebuild their mindset. Time is of the essence, with upcoming matches against Juárez, Puebla, and Chivas. Club officials are likely to closely evaluate his performance. Without a turnaround, Gago’s position in Mexico may be at risk.
