Manchester United announced the sacking of head coach Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge.

This decision came a day after the team drew 1-1 against Leeds United. United scored an equalizer through summer signing Matheus Cunha after initially falling behind.

Issues arose between Amorim and Director of Football Jason Wilcox, and comments made by Amorim raised concerns about his future with the club.

The change has sparked discussions among pundits and former players. Gary Neville, a former United captain and now a Sky Sports analyst, shared his thoughts.

“Manchester United must take risks and play an attacking style of football,” he stated.

“Clubs like Ajax and Barcelona have a clear identity, and I believe Man United should do the same. They should stick to their traditional style of play.”

“The managers that have come in—Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Erik ten Hag, and Ruben Amorim—are all talented, but they have different philosophies that haven’t aligned with the Manchester United way.”

“The club needs to find a manager who can deliver fast, entertaining, and aggressive football.”

United’s upcoming match is against Burnley, followed by an FA Cup clash with Brighton and Hove Albion. Former midfielder Darren Fletcher will lead the team for the Premier League match against Burnley and may continue in this role longer term.
