A month ago, Gavi, a midfielder for Barcelona, sustained a knee injury during training. Initially, it seemed he wouldn’t be sidelined for too long, but the situation has taken a turn for the worse.
Details: The medical team at the Catalan club confirmed that Gavi has had arthroscopic surgery to fix a medial meniscus injury. The meniscus was stitched to keep it intact. He is expected to be out of action for four to five months, which might mean he won’t play again this year.
If all goes well, he could return by the end of November, allowing him to participate in the last matches of the year. However, if his recovery takes longer, he may not be back until 2026.
Reminder: Gavi already missed nearly the entire 2023-2024 season due to a cruciate ligament injury, which he suffered at the end of November 2023. He only fully recovered by late September 2024.
