Support has emerged from an unlikely source.
Demands for the suspension of Israeli clubs and national teams from UEFA competitions have intensified, with a vote expected on Tuesday, September 23, according to reports. Meanwhile, the Middle Eastern federation has gained unexpected support.
Details: According to Israel Hayom, officials from the Israeli federation are optimistic that the German Football Association and their colleagues from Hungary will seek to block the vote on Israel’s removal from UEFA events.
The Israeli federation is also actively working to prevent the vote, seeking backing from both sports and diplomatic partners.
Reminder: The UEFA Executive Committee can suspend membership if a major violation of the organization’s rules is identified. For this resolution to pass, a vote among committee members is necessary, requiring three-quarters of votes in favor.
