Girona is bouncing back. After a tough start to the season with no wins in seven matches, the Catalan team is now experiencing a better phase. They confirmed this by winning against Alavés (1-0) on Saturday, marking their second victory of the season.
The only goal of the match was scored by Viktor Tsygankov, who found the net with a well-placed header following a cross from Bryan Gil in the 16th minute. Antonio Blanco had a goal disallowed for offside after halftime for Alavés in the 53rd minute, while Stuani also had a goal denied for Girona during stoppage time (90th minute). Girona has temporarily moved away from the relegation zone, climbing to 16th place, while Alavés remains in 8th position.
