Getafe Surges Past Girona to Temporarily Claim 6th Place in Thrilling Match

This Friday, the 11th round of La Liga kicked off with a match between Getafe and Girona. Struggling at the bottom of the table, the Catalan club faced another defeat on home turf. Despite some promising plays from Azzedine Ounahi, Girona conceded the first goal when Mario Martin scored in the 72nd minute.

As the match progressed, excitement built up. Seeking an equalizer, the visitors left themselves vulnerable and conceded a second goal, this time from Borja Mayoral in the 86th minute (2-0). In stoppage time, Christian Stuani managed to score a penalty and gave Girona a glimmer of hope (2-1, 90+4). With this win, Getafe moves up to 6th place, while Girona remains at the bottom.
