The Chicago Fire announced the signing of goalkeeper Josh Cohen as a free agent on Wednesday.

Cohen, who is 33 years old, has a contract that runs through June 2027, with an option for the 2027-28 season.

He played for Atlanta United over the last two seasons, making eight appearances in total.

Fire head coach and director of football, Gregg Berhalter, expressed excitement about adding Cohen, noting the goalkeeper position’s history of strength and reliability at the club.

Before his time in MLS, Cohen spent four seasons at Maccabi Haifa, where he contributed to three consecutive championships in the Israeli Premier League and won the 2021-22 Israel Super Cup.

Cohen joins a goalkeeping team that includes current starter Chris Brady and Jeffrey Gal. The Fire will begin the 2026 MLS season on February 21 against the Houston Dynamo.
